Mentor Program
The Grossmont College Nursing Mentorship program enables current students to further develop professional skills and attitudes for personal, institutional and career success by participating as a peer mentor. Additionally, the mentoring program provides the necessary support new students require their first semester of nursing school. The goal of the program is to promote academic success, school connectedness, self-confidence, and enhance personal growth.
Our mentors are students in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th semesters of the Nursing program. Our mentees and mentors fill out a brief questionnaire and are then paired by the Student Success Advisor. We have found that the mentorship program enhances students’ experience in the Nursing program and fosters academic success as well as long lasting friendships.
