All volunteers are required to register thru the official registration process on the EnMotive  volunteer registration page (click button below).    The sign up page shows all available volunteer opportunities. Please make sure you are available for the duration of the listed timeframe before registering for desired position. Individual volunteers will assist with nearly every aspect of the event, including:
• Assigning bibs and distributing goodie bags at the Expo.
• Organizing runners by corral at the start line and/or welcoming participants back at the finish line.
• Directing & cheering on the course to keep all race participants safe and motivated.

Sharp Mary Birch - Little Grad Reunion

Sharp Mary Birch Hospital would like to coordinate an annual event called “Little Grad Reunion” where graduates of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit attend to gather with their previous nurses, respiratory therapists, doctors and all care partners. They are reaching out to nursing schools to recruit student volunteers to run the booths (games, food, checking in, etc.) 

​This event takes place at NTC Park at Liberty Station. 


Setup begins around 8/9am
Event 11am-2pm
Cleanup afterwards until 3/4pm

Volunteers will be greeting patients, manning a sign in booth, helping set up the room, assisting with a plant based cooking demonstration from one of our plant based cardiologists, and then take down at the end of the event and any other general tasks.

Sign spinning/signage from major parking areas to event.
Stuffing giveaway bags for participants as they come in.
Signage/greeting people at the event, taking flash polls of participants to gain a sense of how they heard about the event. (it's always word-of-mouth, school, and social media that come out on top)

High school students from all over San Diego will be in attendance to hear from a male panel of nurses and participate in hands-on activities, with the goal of encouraging males to enter the nursing profession.

Volunteers are needed to monitor and/or teach hands-on breakout sessions, guide students around campus, and assist with other necessary tasks throughout the day to ensure the event runs smoothly. 

Community service hours will be awarded.

Students are needed to act as patients for the Respiratory Therapy students here at Grossmont College.
You can serve for as little as one hour if you desire. 

10/6/2017 between 1030-1330 (one hour minimum attendance):
RT students will be testing for their capnometry competency.
You will be wearing an ETCO2 nasal cannula and have your vitals taken. 

11/3/2017 from 1030-1330 (one hour minimum attendance):
RT students will be tested on EKG competency. You will have 12 lead EKG done.
You will be kept modest, and you can place your own leads if you wish

Kids Care Fest

The annual Kids Care Fest is back at the Lakeside Rodeo Grounds on October 14th, 2017.
Grossmont Nursing has always been a big volunteer presence at this event. In fact, if you google the event I guarantee you'll see green scrubs! Let's show our local community support by helping children get proper medical, dental, and vision screenings, as well as safety demonstrations. Plus everyone gets to have FUN doing it! There will be pony rides, kids activities, etc. Encourage family and friends with little ones to attend. 
Two volunteer shifts are available (4 hours for one shift or 8 hours for two shifts of community service credit awarded):

1000-1300

 Legacy Corps Volunteer Program

Legacy Corps Program is currently recruiting volunteers to provide a companionship break to our community’s hidden heroes: caregivers of military and veteran families. By providing friendly visits, ranging from 4 to 10 hours per week, our volunteers  help caregivers take a necessary break which significantly decreases caregiver burden and stress.  Volunteers are asked to commit to one year of service, totaling 450 hours.

In return, Legacy Corps Volunteers receive a monthly taxable living allowance in the amount of $200 and a $1527 Educational Award. This educational award can be used for tuition or student loans.

Mary Birch NICU Grad Reunion

As part of Sharp Mary Birch’s continued celebration of these tiny survivors, the NICU hosts an annual Little Graduate Reunion each fall. The event is an opportunity for past NICU families to reunite with the doctors, nurses and team members who cared for them during their stay and celebrate their child’s health.
Each year, families who have graduated from the NICU are invited back for an afternoon of games, food, and fun. It is a way for the care teams to reconnect with families and patients. V
olunteers are needed to man the registration tables, games, and other activities.
October 14th
11am-2pm

Volunteers would need to arrive by 10:30 and would hopefully be available until 2:00.
Lunch will be provided.

The San Diego Senior Games couldn't happen without volunteers!
Nursing programs have typically been their mainstay for volunteers. 
You can choose from a myriad of games, sports, and activities to volunteer for. Team sports need the most help. 

Events will take place on various dates during the month of September. Responsibilities vary as do the hours but I can assure you it's a totally fun, interesting day. Number of community service hours awarded will vary.

The Commencement Committee would like to ask for assistance from our campus community. 

We need about 25 volunteers to assist with seating, directing guests and graduates, and general support for the graduation event Wednesday June 7th from 3:00-7:30 pm.  Please assist us in providing a fun, safe and meaningful celebration for all those students that our college has helped through their educational goals.

The Medical Coordinator for the Synchrony Financial Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon, ½ Marathon & 5K is reaching out to see if you  would be interested in being a part of the medical team for 2017.  The event will be on Sunday, June 4, 2017.....
 
A message from the coordinator:
This is a great opportunity for students with any level of training to come out and work alongside some of San Diego’s finest medical providers. It allows them to gain hands on triage, emergency care, sports medicine, and patient care experience.  We will be setting up medical tents throughout the course with the main field hospital at our finish line.  You and your students would be valuable in helping us care for all athletes needing assistance.
