Vaccine Super Stations - Sharp
In partnership with the County of San Diego, Sharp HealthCare is operating COVID-19 vaccination super stations in the South Bay, East County, central San Diego and San Marcos in support of our community. Medical volunteers are needed to administer vaccinations. Volunteers are needed to help staff the sites and administer vaccinations while providing The Sharp Experience.

Sharp Mary Birch Hospital would like to coordinate an annual event called “Little Grad Reunion” where graduates of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit attend to gather with their previous nurses, respiratory therapists, doctors and all care partners. They are reaching out to nursing schools to recruit student volunteers to run the booths (games, food, checking in, etc.)

You will be wearing an ETCO2 nasal cannula and have your vitals taken.
11/3/2017 from 1030-1330 (one hour minimum attendance):
RT students will be tested on EKG competency. You will have 12 lead EKG done.
You will be kept modest, and you can place your own leads if you wish

Grossmont Nursing has always been a big volunteer presence at this event. In fact, if you google the event I guarantee you'll see green scrubs! Let's show our local community support by helping children get proper medical, dental, and vision screenings, as well as safety demonstrations. Plus everyone gets to have FUN doing it! There will be pony rides, kids activities, etc. Encourage family and friends with little ones to attend.
Two volunteer shifts are available (4 hours for one shift or 8 hours for two shifts of community service credit awarded):

Legacy Corps Volunteer Program
Ongoing
Legacy Corps Program is currently recruiting volunteers to provide a companionship break to our community’s hidden heroes: caregivers of military and veteran families. By providing friendly visits, ranging from 4 to 10 hours per week, our volunteers help caregivers take a necessary break which significantly decreases caregiver burden and stress. Volunteers are asked to commit to one year of service, totaling 450 hours.
In return, Legacy Corps Volunteers receive a monthly taxable living allowance in the amount of $200 and a $1527 Educational Award. This educational award can be used for tuition or student loans.

Mary Birch NICU Grad Reunion

As part of Sharp Mary Birch’s continued celebration of these tiny survivors, the NICU hosts an annual Little Graduate Reunion each fall. The event is an opportunity for past NICU families to reunite with the doctors, nurses and team members who cared for them during their stay and celebrate their child’s health.
Each year, families who have graduated from the NICU are invited back for an afternoon of games, food, and fun. It is a way for the care teams to reconnect with families and patients. Volunteers are needed to man the registration tables, games, and other activities.

Please assist us in providing a fun, safe and meaningful celebration for all those students that our college has helped through their educational goals.
