Our Mission
California Nursing Students’ Association leads by example, creating a statewide community of politically conscious, technologically savvy, and socially aware nursing students. GCNSA fosters the transition of the student to the role of the professional nurse through the development of leadership, activism, and advocacy. CNSA supports scholarship, volunteerism, and mentorship to influence nursing education and nursing care in California.
Thoughts from our Board...
"CNSA is an opportunity to be involved in what is a uniting force for student RNs. Not only do we get to experience a sense of camaraderie at the program level, but we get the opportunity to be involved in the world of nursing on a dynamic level, from participating in the political arena to shaping evidence-based practice." - Sarah Kranz, GCNSA Secretary, 2013
“To me, CNSA is a way to stay involved with everything going on in our program and to have a say in where it's going next. It's a way to bridge the gap between faculty and students, as one day soon we'll be fellow nurses! CNSA affords us many opportunities for advancement and better prepares us for a successful future in nursing.” – Melissa Correia, Director of Membership, 2013
"Through my involvement in CNSA, I have truly developed a passion for nursing. I have formed invaluable friendships and broadened my nursing knowledge. CNSA also provided me opportunities for leadership development, career building and the ability to have a voice in the nursing profession." - Danielle Smith, Director of Communications, Fall 2013
